Wedding tree, etc

These are the first blossoms on the wedding tree (pseudocamillus stewartia). There are lots of buds and it should be glorious in full blossom. We've been waiting a while; it's almost a year since Theo and Jenni were married and we planted the tree with all the family witnesses.

The cabbages and potatoes (back of photo) are very promising. We promised the new Bishop a pound of them as soon as they are ready. The Sweetspire (below) is almost in full bloom. If you look closely you can see a bee hard at work.

I half-remembered a different name from last summer -- not "pseudocamillus" but... "Stewartia" I do remember. I think the plant collector was a Lord Bute from the island of the same name.
