Paris, Patch

We spent Tuesday through Friday of this week in Paris with friends. They live in a lovely bright little apartment up on the 5th floor of an old building. I didn't mind the walk up so much (good exercise) but found the trip down a bit vertiginous. Still, sights like the vegetable market shown here made trips outside very attractive. We bought one of those little melons--exactly ripe just like the vendor promised.

An added attraction was a dog named Patch who was visiting at the same time. Roger, who is leaning very much towards wanting a dog, did most of the walking. Or rather Patch, who had firm ideas about where to go next, usually walked Roger. Whoever was in charge, they both had a good time.

We didn't really do any special sightseeing except for a final lunch in the Eiffel Tower restaurant (more on that, and a picture, in a bit); we just walked about and enjoyed ourselves. The weather was fantastic; my feet are sunburned in a pattern showing my sandal straps.
