Roger and I are on a two week visit to Spain, starting with a stay in Madrid with our friends the Jagoes, whom we met in Mozambique. Three years ago we had the privilege of serving as surrogate grandparents/caregivers to the three oldest children on the day when baby Leta was born. It's always a pleasure to see them all again. These pictures are from the Retiro Park in central Madrid--very grand, as you can see. It is also full of pleasant cafes and wonderful playgrounds. The people in the pictures include Mollie Jagoe getting ready to go roller blading (she's VERY good) and Summers Jagoe and Roger inspecting a statue. I did not get a good picture of the much grown baby Leta but will try again for another day.

The bench full of people is a not very good picture of a geriatric section of the park where one can sit peacefully on a bench and get a little exercise by pedaling on the wheel attached to the bench. Seems like a very nice idea.
