The word gets around

I've been in Lilongwe, Malawi for the last two weeks where I saw this outside my hotel. The reach of a powerful idea is amazing.

It was a peaceful election. The incumbent president was handily re-elected. The surprising thing, which made my colleagues ecstatic, is that a lot of the old guard in parliament got booted out. I gather it was like seeing Ted Stevens lose his election by a landslide.

Just popped over from Jean's website. Another simile: like watching the outgoing Prime Minister losing not only the election but his own seat!
