A happy one to all. We are celebrating with two Mozambican friends who are here visiting our church--the actual dinner is at someone else's house. Roger can be seen in the pictures working on the pumpkin pie crust. For the filling, we resurrected an old recipe that we both remembered as delicious (the secret is rum) and think the finished product will be as good as we remember.
I'd urge readers to have a look at Abu Muqawama's blog, listed on the side. He is, in real life, Theo's friend and former roommate. Roger reads the blog faithfully; I've just started to. The recent entry on the purchase of a sword for his cousin is very funny; the more serious commentary on topics such as the politics of Lebanon is extremely valuable and insightful.
More on the big day will be posted tomorrow but perhaps, if we're lucky, Theo will tell us a bit about his turkey adventures as well.
