Catching up

Having your mother nag you about blogging is almost as bad as having her nag her about cleaning your room. It's the same situation: as usual, she's right, I should blog more. I started this blog and I should take responsibility. So here I am, back on the blog mom.

First off - the books. Here are mine:

1. The Count of Monte Cristo- Dumas
2. Great Expectations- Dickens
3. Pride and Prejudice- Austen
4. Dove- Robin Graham
5. Tales from Margaritaville- Buffett

I'll be honest - when I started out to make the list, I did not expect to wind up with 3 "classics" but in thinking back over the books that I have really remembered and can completely lost myself in, these are them. I guess that's why they're classics. I would add one caveat to the list. If this was truly the "what 5 books would you want if you were stuck on a desert island?" question, I would substitute this bookin for tales from Margaritaville.

On an entirely different note, however, I wanted to put in a plug for a new show on HBO called Flight of the Conchords. I first saw these guys live at the US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen a few years ago and laughed nonstop. I particularly recommend the song "Business Time," (you can listen here.
